Remakes and Unnecessary Sequels: AKA Hollywood is Out of Ideas
Ok. This is it. Line in the sand has been drawn. I am DONE with bullshit Hollywood remakes of beloved classics. I am also not going to see a 3rd of 4th movie from a weak concept that is being drawn out for dollars (aka Transformers 4).
This revelation comes upon my hearing they are making Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure Part 3. Over 20 years later they are dusting this movie off and putting these two idiots back up on screen. Alex Winter AKA Bill says they are making this movie for the fans. Who are these fans? Who the hell cares what Bill or Ted in their 40's is up to???
Reading that this movie is getting a remake I decided to see what else Hollywood has in store for me in the next few years. What I found shocked me to my core. In the next 6 years, 106 remakes are going to be made. 106!!!!! From the looks of the list, they are pretty much remaking the 80's.

I would say probably 85% of these movies did not have a strong enough plot or characters to warrant a sequel. Paul Blart 2??We definitely need to see more of that guy?? What?

Some of these movies are so far removed from the original that they are basically remakes as well. Beetlejuice 2, Space Jam 2, Who Framed Roger Rabbit 2???? It's been 30 years since these original movies came out. Who the heck wants to see Looney Tunes or Michael Jordan in a movie again? So irrelevant!
Hollywood does not take chances anymore. If a movie makes money they beat it like a dead horse with sequels until we beg them to stop. Remember the 80's?? Only really good movies got sequels: Ghostbusters, Terminator..If the movie was epic it got 3 parts: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future. If there was a cool character that we just couldn't get enough of THEN and only THEN do they get a franchise: Bond, Michael Meyers, Jason, Rocky...
Anyone want to see Paul Blart the Franchise?? Anyone....anyone...Bueller??? Which reminds me: They touch Ferris Bueller, so help me god: I will burn that screenwriters house to the ground. Just stop it Hollywood: come up with something new and I will go to the movies again. Til then, you get no dollars from me!
